My name is Dawn Piche. In 1989 while serving in The Canadian Armed
Forces, I started my training company, K9 Kindergarten.
After leaving the military in 1997,
I moved back home to Winnipeg and established
Canada's Canine Academy.
Operating solely on a referral basis, the
company flourished, showing a demand for a qualified
Behaviour Specialist.
As
a result
of the demand,
the company went public.
I became the only recognized
Certified Pet Dog Trainer
(CPDT) in Manitoba
in 2004.
This certification is recognized around the world by the
Certification Council out of New York (CCPDT).
To maintain this certification we are
required to keep up with Continuing Education Units. This
allows certified trainers to provide their clients with
the most proven methods of behaviour modification.
Continuing Education Units are
offered by
top Behaviourists and Trainers from around the world
such
as
Dr. Ian Dunbar, Jean Donaldson, and Patricia
McConnell, Ph.D.
I am
a member of
the
Association
of
Pet Dog Trainers
(APDT). As well, I hold a BA from The University Of Winnipeg.
